My name is Zuzana and I create under the artistic name SUE.
Painting has drawn me in for as long as I can remember — a quiet longing that stayed with me throughout my life. I always felt that one day the right moment would come for me to fully return to it. That moment has finally arrived.
I have been painting for approximately ten years, mainly using acrylics, and occasionally chalk. I do not search for perfection in realistic detail — my work grows from inner experience.
In my paintings, I focus on energy, feelings and emotions that arise in the moment and ask to be captured.
I paint intuitively. Sometimes my work becomes abstract compositions, other times I am guided by nature — light, texture and movement. Often, however, I simply paint what I feel: a mood, an inner flow, a transformation. Each painting is, for me, an imprint of a moment in which sensitivity, stillness and the courage to be truthful come together.
When I paint, time slows down. A clear mind brings inspiration, and the process itself becomes a form of meditation — a gentle immersion into the present. Layers of colour, the rhythm of the hand and the choice of tones are born from intuition. I believe a painting finds its own way when we allow it to emerge.
I am happy to be presenting my work to the public for the first time. I have no doubt about my art — I feel it as a natural part of who I am, something that has matured and now wishes to be shared. I am especially grateful that this exhibition takes place here, on Madeira. It is a place that has deeply touched my heart — beautiful, powerful, alive, and rich in energy. It gives me inspiration, calmness and the courage to create.
My paintings are not only colours on canvas. They are feelings, energy and quiet stories — not always easy to describe in words, but always possible to feel.
